Shreem Electric's Metal Oxide Polymer Type Surge Arresters are gapless lightning arresters that protect distribution equipment and networks from overvoltages caused by lightning and switching surges. Each unit has a direct moulded, hydrophobic and tracking resistant silicone housing that prevents moisture ingress and gives superior pollution performance, along with low residual voltages, a high protection margin, high energy handling and uniform current sharing. The polymer construction makes the arrester light in weight, easy to install and commission, maintenance free, and strong against vibration, impact, cantilever and tensile loads, and it can withstand seismic conditions. It also reduces thermal ageing of the MOV insulation. The range is available for rated voltages from 3 kV to 36 kV with 5 kA or 10 kA nominal discharge current, with creepage distances from 100 mm up to 900 mm or more, and comes with a disconnector and NEMA bracket for pole mounting. Designed to IEC 60099-4, ANSI/IEEE C62.11 and IS 3070 Part 3 at 48 to 62 Hz, the arresters are type tested at NABL accredited laboratories and manufactured under ISO 9001.
